We practice the long style Yang form of Tai Chi Chuan (108 moves)developed by Yang Ch'eng-Fu.
New students learn the form in approximately one year, proceeding quarterly, Advanced students refine their practice and receive instruction in other areas.
Curriculum includes Tai Chi Chuan, Chi Kung (Chinese breath exercises) , Mirror and Fast Sets, Sword, Saber, and Fan. (These forms are done as a group).Starting the new quarter on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 8.00 AM. With the "normalization" of the Los Angeles County Covid regulations. The Academy of Tai Chi Chuan-Pasadena has decided to offer our classes as a combination of outdoor learning and practice and indoors via zoom.We will meet on Saturday mornings at 8.30 AM. (All participants must be vaccinated). We will continue to meet on Wednesday nights at 6.00 PM. via Zoom.
Saturday Schedule will be at the Stage area west of the Aquatics Center in Brookside Park in Pasadena. (Click to Direction page) We will start with warm-ups, Chi Gong, The 108 Yang form practice or instruction in the form. Advanced classes will continue with weapons sets or push hands. Thursday Schedule will be meet and greet, Warm-ups, the Form, Symmetrical Set (Instructions and practice from Saturday in breakout rooms during this period) Cost of classes is $100. This fee covers 11 weeks of Wednesday and Saturday classes. Remember that the practice of Tai Chi Chuan and ChiGong are very powerful tools to use in maintaining your Physical and Mental Health. KEEP PRACTICING. It doesn't mater how much of the forms you know. Do what you can. weekly is good. Daily is better.
